SERG event - "IDEATION" What’s a good idea that can lead to starting a business

Seminole Entrepreneur Resources for Growth, SERG, is a program for budding entrepreneurs and start-ups offering resources for the greater Seminole community in business start-up needs.

Join us for this kick-off class is geared for anyone who has a business idea or entrepreneurial spirit. This class will provide the knowledge and tools to determine if the idea could be a successful business.

Denise Mitchell, SCORE consultant will provide the training.

SCORE, the nation’s largest network of volunteer, expert business mentors, is dedicated to helping small businesses get off the ground, grow and achieve their goals. Since 1964, we have provided education and mentorship to more than 11 million entrepreneurs.

SCORE is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and a resource partner of the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA).

The class as well as SERG resources are free to the public and chamber members.

About the Speaker - Dennis Mitchell, has been a Score mentor for 10 years. He owned his own manufacturer’s representative company for most of his career. The products sold by his company were electronic components to OEM’s.

He also started a rep company in Taiwan and lived there for 5 years. He saw an opportunity when many major US electronic companies moved production there in the 70’s. When he returned to the states, he started another rep company covering the state of Florida.

He sold his manufacturer's rep business several years ago and is now semi-retired. This has allowed him to devote more to time to Score and he has been the Pinellas Chapter Chair for 2 years along with his mentoring activities. Dennis also sings with the Master Chorale of Tampa Bay and has been a volunteer at Big Cat Rescue for 20 years.
